If you're raising a young rider—or becoming one— you're in the right place.
At 23 years old and living with Cushing's disease (PPID), Velvet continues to remind us that purpose matters at every stage of life. Through two or three short riding and showmanship sessions each week, we've watched her stay mentally engaged, maintain muscle tone, and show up with quiet confidence.
Every horse is unique, and exercise should always be tailored to the individual horse and guided by your veterinarian when health conditions are involved. But for Velvet, having a meaningful job has benefited more than just the children she's teaching.
This is a story about partnership—because sometimes the horse grows stronger alongside the rider.
